Blog 9
It’s another Kraft Korner blog here! This week I’ll be discussing pony beads, craft nights and baby crochet clothes.
First, a recap of my week! I’ve been crafting as usual, mainly focusing on doing some pony bead creations in preparation for a presentation I’m doing soon on how to make them. I’ve also made some earrings (I haven’t made any in a while, and forgot how much I enjoyed it!). Then I’ve done plenty of reading, keeping my books safe in their crocheted book sleeve, and pottery painting some birthday presents for family.
Pony Beads
Two of my favourite pony bead (or kandi beads, as they are otherwise known) creations are lizards and flowers. They are super easy to make and they are perfect as keyrings or a fidget toy!

Here are just a few examples I’ve been making. The stars take around 3-5 minutes to make (once you get the hang of them) and require just 25 beads, whereas the lizards can take 5-7 minutes to make with a total of 46 beads. So they don’t take up lots of your bead stock to make! These designs are a beginner level craft, but you can make so many more things with a bit more practise!
Yarn Appreciation
I’m hoping I haven’t mentioned this yarn before, but if I have it will only prove how much I love it! Below is a picture of some lovely yarn I’m naming ‘rose garden’ with a base colour of khaki green and different shades of pink weaved into the strands. I think it’s absolutely beautiful, and so I’m making lots of granny squares out of it to make a cardigan. The squares will be all one colour (rose garden) and the outer edge will be a dark brown colour to complement the squares yet make them stand out. I’m so excited for the result!

Crocheted baby clothes
Hand crocheted baby clothes are the cutest thing ever and they make the perfect gift for your loved ones who have little ones on the way. I recently asked Mum Kraft Korner to make a matching set of baby clothes for one of my friends who has a baby coming in April, and I love how it turned out. I’ll attach the photo below!

As you can guess, my friend is having a girl! So we chose a beautiful baby pink with a peach tone, to make a little hexi cardigan and bobble hat. I think it will look so cute! If you’re expecting, or know someone who is, don’t hesitate to check out our range of baby clothes available to buy over on our website! I’ll put the links to our social media below so you can find us easily. When we have the time we also do take commissions, depending on what people may be looking for, so that is also an option- simply email me on the.kraftcorner@yahoo.com.
